Spink's actions included sending sexually explicit messages and a graphic image of his erect penis to the ten-year-old girl. When she refused, he began asking her sexually explicit questions. Later, at Spink’s suggestion, she lied to her mother and went out with him again, but became increasingly worried when he started driving towards Ipswich. Spink then told her they would be staying at his home overnight, which raised further concerns about his intentions and actions.
