MITCHELL CANNON FROM SLEIGHTS FACES DESTRUCTION AND FINE AFTER HARE COURTING INCIDENT IN HAISTHORPE

Mitchell Cannon, a resident of 71 Birch Avenue in Sleights, near Whitby, was involved in a legal case stemming from an incident that took place on December 5, 2021. Cannon, born on March 19, 1995, was detained by authorities after suspicion arose that he was trespassing on private land at Haisthorpe, located in the East Riding of Yorkshire, with the intent of hunting game.

Following his detention, Cannon was taken into custody and subsequently pleaded guilty to the charges against him. The court found him responsible for unlawfully entering land with the purpose of hunting, which is a serious offense given the potential disturbance to wildlife and breach of land rights.

As part of his sentencing, Mitchell Cannon was ordered to pay a fine of £300. In addition to this monetary penalty, he was required to contribute £119 in surcharges and legal costs, reflecting the court’s stance on enforcing wildlife protection laws and deterring illegal hunting activities.
