MILON/ MATHUE/ MIKORLEE BABIC: HORRIFIC SEX OFFENDER FROM ETRURIA AND STOKE ON TRENT SENTENCED FOR DECADES OF ABUSE

In a case that has shocked the local community and brought to light decades of disturbing criminal behavior, Mikorlee Babic, a 17-year-old from James Brindley Close, Etruria, has been sentenced to three years in a young offenders' institution after being convicted of a serious sexual offence, specifically one charge of rape. The sentencing followed a lengthy legal process, during which the court also ordered that he be placed on the sex offenders' register for life and subject to a five-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).

Despite his young age, Mikorlee Babic's crimes are part of a broader pattern of heinous acts committed over more than 30 years by his family members, notably his father, Milan Babic, and his older brother, Mathue. The court heard that Mikorlee's actions were influenced and encouraged by his father, with the judge emphasizing the distorted perception of sexual conduct that had been instilled in him.

Meanwhile, Milan Babic, a 53-year-old resident of James Brindley Court, Etruria, was convicted of an extensive series of sexual offences, including 22 rapes, four attempted rapes, 13 indecent assaults, and one sexual assault. His crimes, which spanned over three decades, were uncovered after one of his victims bravely reported the abuse to the police. It was revealed that Babic had continued offending even while on police bail, highlighting a blatant disregard for the law and the safety of his victims.

The court heard that Babic's offending was particularly heinous, involving acts such as blindfolding victims before assaulting them, filming some of the attacks, and even inviting his son, Mathue, to participate in the rapes. The judge, David Fletcher, condemned Babic's actions, stating, "Your actions had a devastating and totally life-changing effect on your victims. There is no remorse on your behalf. Over more than 30 years, you committed hundreds, possibly thousands, of offences."

Babic's criminal conduct also extended to his family, with his two sons, Mathue and Mikorlee, being implicated and sentenced for their roles. Mathue Babic, of Thorpe Green, Newstead, was convicted of two counts of rape and one attempted rape. His defense argued that he was of limited intelligence and had been corrupted by his father. Judge Fletcher sentenced him to eight years in prison, emphasizing that Mathue was encouraged and accompanied by his father during the offences, which reflected a distorted understanding of sexual conduct.

Deborah Babic, the mother of the two boys, was also convicted of witness intimidation and perverting the course of justice. She was subsequently sentenced to jail, further highlighting the extent of the family's involvement in the criminal activities.

The sentencing of Mikorlee Babic marked a significant moment in the case, with authorities emphasizing their commitment to justice. Staffordshire Police welcomed the sentences, with Detective Sergeant Steve Chadwick stating, "This has been one of the most emotive and distressing cases our officers have had to investigate. All eight victims bravely gave evidence on such difficult and distressing matters. Horrific crimes of this nature will not be tolerated."

As of September 2015, Mikorlee Babic has been released from detention and is now residing in Meir, Stoke-on-Trent, although he maintains connections to Hanley. His release has raised concerns among local residents and law enforcement officials, given the severity of his past crimes and the ongoing risk he may pose to the community.
