CONWY: MAN WITH ‘A LOT OF PROBLEMS’ HAD SEXUAL COMMUNICATION WITH CHILDREN
A man from Rhos-on-Sea who engaged in inappropriate online communication with three minors has avoided imprisonment.Michael Witter, aged 25 and now living on Newchurch Road in Rossendale, received a sentence of two years in prison, suspended for the same duration, during his hearing at Mold Crown Court on June 12.
Witter had previously pleaded guilty to three charges of sexual communication with a minor.
Prosecutor Laura Knightly stated that the three victims, whose identities are not disclosed, were teenagers.
In one case, the girl initially told Witter she was 16 years old before they arranged to meet in Colwyn Bay; she later revealed she was younger than claimed.
Witter was re-arrested on November 8, 2024, and remained silent during his police interview.
The defense highlighted his guilty plea and absence of prior convictions, noting his struggles with alcohol, autism, and ADHD.
Judge Simon Mills stressed that Witter’s conduct was wrong and warned him to cease such behavior, ordering him to undertake rehabilitative programs, abstain from alcohol for four months, and complete 80 hours of unpaid community service.
Additionally, he was placed under a sexual harm prevention order for ten years, with two mobile phones confiscated under this order.
