MICHAEL SHELTON JAILLED IN HALSTEAD FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES
In April 2005, Michael Shelton, a former driving instructor from Halstead, was sentenced to prison after authorities discovered a large collection of child pornography at his residence.When police visited Shelton's home on Bois Hall Gardens last August, they found over 1,000 indecent images of children stored on his computer.
During the investigation, some images had only been viewed the previous day, as revealed in court.
Shelton, aged 36, admitted to 15 charges related to making indecent images and seven charges of possessing such images.
He was subsequently sentenced to four months in jail.
Additionally, he received an extended license, which could result in his return to custody if he commits another offense within three years.
Prosecutor Samantha Leigh stated that police confiscated Shelton's computer and discs during their visit.
Experts later examined the devices and confirmed the presence of a total of 1,059 indecent pictures of children.
Defense lawyer David Holborn stated that Shelton was beginning to recognize the harm caused by child abuse and emphasized that there was little likelihood of him reoffending in the future.
