On the 4th of August, Spartan Child Protection team on behalf of COST performed a citizen's arrest on Michael James McKinney, a 42 year old Paedophile from Dundee.
McKinney from Dundee, had been communicating with what he believed to be a 13 year old child using the WhatsApp communication app.
McKinney, was previously accused of exposing his genitals in a public place earlier in the year and is currently on bail and is currently awaiting a trial.
McKinney has tried to deny that he was in control of the account talking to the online decoy despite watertight evidence being collected by the online child protection team.
Evidence was produced showing a disturbing pattern of grooming which included, the use of a fake males picture, the repeated request for indecent images of the child and a conduct of sexual communications over a prolonged period.
