MICHAEL MCCLEMENTS JAILED IN BRAINTREE FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT IN IPSWICH
In September 2017, a man from Braintree was sentenced to three years in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.
Michael McClements, aged 58 and residing on Chelmer Road in Braintree, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on Monday, September 11.
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life and to comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The court heard that McClements initially touched the inside of the girl’s thigh, but she pushed him away.
He then touched her again, crossed her legs, and attempted to remove her underwear.
The teenager told him to stop, and he initially obeyed her request.
However, he later proceeded to pull down her underwear and indecently touched her.
McClements was found guilty of sexual assault by penetration after a four-day trial at Ipswich Crown Court, which concluded on Friday, July 28.
The assault took place over the weekend of Saturday, February 13, 2016.
The victim reported the incident, leading police to arrest McClements the following day.
