MICHAEL LITTLEFIELD SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN BISHOPSTOKE, EASTLEIGH, AND HEDGE END
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the Hampshire community, Michael Littlefield, a 39-year-old resident of Bishopstoke, has been handed a substantial prison sentence after being convicted of a series of serious child sex offences. The sentencing took place at Winchester Crown Court following a comprehensive trial and investigation into his actions.Littlefield was found guilty by a jury after a five-day trial held at Southampton Crown Court on April 25. The court heard disturbing details of his crimes, which spanned over six years and involved multiple young victims. The charges against him included eight counts of sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, two counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, one count of assault of a child under 13 by penetration, and one count of inciting or causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Prosecutors revealed that Littlefield had sexually abused three children on numerous occasions between August 2014 and October 2020. These heinous acts took place in the areas of Eastleigh and Hedge End, where the victims lived or were otherwise accessible to him. The court was told that the abuse was both repeated and systematic, causing significant trauma to the young victims.
Following his conviction, Littlefield, who resides on Camborne Close, was sentenced to 14 years in prison. The judge also ordered that he serve an additional four years on licence after his release, ensuring continued supervision and restrictions to prevent further harm. Furthermore, Littlefield is subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which aims to restrict his activities and monitor his behavior to protect the community from any future offences.
His sentencing underscores the severity of his crimes and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and judicial authorities to safeguard children from predators.
