MICHAEL GREEN FROM ANDOVER DIES IN PRISON AFTER JAIL SENTENCE FOR CHILD INDECENCY IMAGES

Michael Green, aged 69 and formerly residing at Clyde Court in Andover, had been incarcerated for less than a month when he passed away on Wednesday, May 3. His brief time in prison followed a court appearance in which he was sentenced for his crimes involving child exploitation.

Green’s criminal activities came to light in April 2017, when he was convicted and sentenced at Winchester Crown Court. The court heard that Green had admitted to possessing two indecent images of children, which led to a substantial prison sentence. Specifically, he was handed a total of two years and three months behind bars. The sentencing took place on Wednesday, April 12, after Green pleaded guilty to two counts of making indecent images of children.

During the proceedings, it was revealed that Green had created one Grade B image, for which he received a two-year prison term. Additionally, he was found to have made a Grade C image, resulting in an extra 12 months to be served concurrently with his primary sentence. The court also imposed a series of restrictions and orders to prevent further harm. Green was subjected to a restraining order and a sexual harm prevention order, and he was registered as a sex offender for a period of ten years.

He was also sentenced to an additional three months in prison for dangerous driving, and he was disqualified from driving for 26 months.
