A Devon man has been jailed for the murder of his wife.Michael Cole, 56, of Shelley Drive, Torquay, was arrested in March after the body of his 54-year-old wife, Susan, was found at their home.
She had been stabbed.At Exeter Crown Court Cole pleaded guilty to murder.Sentencing him to life imprisonment, Judge Francis Gilbert QC, ruled Cole should serve 12 years and three months in jail.After sentencing, Det Ch Insp Dave Thorne, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said Cole's guilty plea was a "welcome progression".
"This brings this case to an appropriately prompt end and will help the family and all connected to deal with the traumatic circumstances," he said.
