MANCHESTER OFFENDER JAILED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER AND RAPE
In July 2023, Michael Brock, a man with a history of violence, was sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty of multiple serious charges. The events unfolded when Brock arrived at a Manchester property with a rucksack containing various weapons and incendiary materials, including a hammer, knife, foldable saw, lighter, and soaked rags.
Investigative efforts indicated that Brock intended to kill one of the women present at the scene.
CCTV footage confirmed he had entered the premises armed with weapons.
An assault ensued in the kitchen where two men received critical knife wounds, one suffering a fractured skull.
The two women present managed to flee, barefoot, to Harpurhey police station, where they reported the incident after public intervention led to a 999 call.
Police officers discovered that the two male victims had fought to restrain Brock, leaving them bloodied.
During his arrest in Moston, authorities recovered more weapons and items suggesting an intent to murder one of the women.
Additionally, the victim disclosed that Brock had raped her years prior.
Brock was convicted of three counts of attempted murder, rape, and threatening to kill, receiving at least 22 years in prison.
Detective Inspector Natasha Feerick remarked that Brock’s attack was thoroughly premeditated and ruthless, causing both physical injuries and mental trauma to the victims.
She also commended the courage of the woman who had been raped and expressed hopes that the sentence will aid her healing process.
A search at Brock’s Moston residence uncovered knives, propane alcohol, and a petrol canister, which were believed to be connected to an alleged murder plan.
The case illustrates the seriousness of Brock’s offences and the importance of his life sentence, which ensures long-term incarceration and reflects the profound effect of his actions on the victims and local community.
