MOSTON MAN JAILED FOR LIFE FOR STRANGLING WIFE AFTER ARGUMENT
James Neary, aged 46 and residing on Kinver Road in Moston, was found guilty of the murder of his estranged wife, Christine Neary.
The crime took place after Neary returned to their home on 27 January, where he restrained her through strangulation amid a heated dispute.
Christine, affectionately called Chrissy by her loved ones and described as an inspirational figure, was discovered dead at their residence in Kinver Road, Moston, Manchester, the following day.
An autopsy confirmed she had been strangled.
Neary confessed to the killing during his trial at Manchester Crown Court and was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 12 years.
Authorities revealed that Neary was deeply affected by their recent separation, and her family issued a heartfelt statement, stating: "She was the glue that held the family together.
We cannot begin to understand what happened to our mother.
She was an inspiring woman who worked hard to improve herself, and her potential was limitless." Detective Duncan Thorpe, the lead investigator, commented: "Jimmy Neary will serve at least 12 years behind bars for the murder of a woman he loved and who was also a mother, thereby tearing his family apart."
