MAN SENTENCED TO OVER 3 YEARS FOR VICIOUS DOMESTIC ATTACK
An abusive man who viciously attacked a woman while her daughter watched has been sent to prison.Michael Bradbury, 40, has been sentenced to three years and four weeks following an investigation into a sustained campaign of violence, coercive control and harassment.
Bradbury of Oakley Court, Timperley, was jailed after being found guilty of controlling and coercive behaviour and harassment with violence to secure entry.
In November 2023, Bradbury forced his way into the victim’s home by kicking in her patio doors before brutally assaulting her as she lay on the floor.
The court heard how his attack was part of a pattern of controlling, threatening, and violent behavior that had not been previously disclosed.
Bradbury left the home, heading in an unknown direction, while the victim fled to a neighbour's house.
Officers found her with significant injuries requiring emergency hospital treatment.
The incident was captured on CCTV footage and supported by medical evidence and witness accounts.
Despite denying responsibility, evidence strongly contradicted his account.
Bradbury was later found hiding in an attic and was arrested.
The victim's teenage daughter witnessed the attack and tried to stop him, eventually striking him over the head to protect her mother.
Her boyfriend called police.
In their impact statement, the victim expressed feeling broken, ashamed, and humiliated, with the experience ruining her confidence and trust.
Detective Constable Grace Ellcock, who led the investigation, praised her bravery in coming forward.
Bradbury’s account was overwhelmingly contradicted by the evidence against him.
