MICHAEL AMOS FROM ELLESMERE PLEADS GUILTY TO CHILD SEX PHOTO CHARGES IN TELFORD

In January 2018, a resident of Ellesmere, Michael Amos, aged 68, faced serious allegations related to the possession and creation of indecent images of a child. The incident came to light when Amos appeared before Telford Magistrates Court on a Tuesday, where he formally admitted to three separate charges involving the production of such illicit material.

Specifically, Amos pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of a child. The images in question were categorized into three different levels of severity: 42 images classified as Category A, which are considered the most serious, along with 86 images categorized as B, and 169 images classified as C. These images were reportedly stored or created by Amos, raising significant concerns about child exploitation and abuse.

The magistrates, after hearing the case, decided to transfer it to Shrewsbury Crown Court for sentencing proceedings, which will determine the appropriate penalties for Amos’s actions. The date for the sentencing has yet to be scheduled. Meanwhile, Amos was granted unconditional bail, allowing him to remain free until the court proceedings take place.
