MATTHEW PIKE FROM PLATT BRIDGE EXPOSED AS PERVERTED MODEL AGENT IN SHOCKING CASE
In October 2016, a disturbing case emerged involving Matthew Pike, a man from Lune Road, Platt Bridge, who exploited his position under the guise of a model agent to prey on young girls.According to court proceedings, Pike established a fake Facebook profile, which he used as a platform to lure schoolgirls and manipulate them into sending him explicit photographs. His tactics involved initially encouraging the minors to share fully clothed images, gradually persuading them to undress as he gained their trust.
It was revealed that Pike paid one of the young girls for sexually explicit images, further demonstrating his predatory behavior. To deceive the minors into believing they were pursuing a legitimate modeling career, he had them sign fabricated contracts he had drafted himself. These contracts were part of his scheme to convince the girls that their participation was a pathway to professional success, rather than a means to satisfy his own sexual desires.
The court heard that Pike, aged 28, admitted to three charges of causing or inciting girls aged between 13 and 15 to engage in sexual activity, specifically to take and send indecent images of themselves. Additionally, he pleaded guilty to a charge of intentionally obtaining sexual services from a 15-year-old girl, whom he did not reasonably believe to be 18 or over, after paying her for those services.
It was also disclosed that these criminal acts occurred while Pike was on bail for other offences, constituting a breach of his bail conditions. As a result, he was remanded in custody and is awaiting sentencing scheduled for October 28.
Given the severity of his crimes, the magistrates decided that the case was too serious to be handled at their level and committed Pike to Bolton Crown Court for a more comprehensive hearing.
Furthermore, Pike was automatically placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register, reflecting the gravity of his offences and the potential risk to the community.
