AYLESBURY PAEDOPHILE RAPED CHILD IN CHESHAM, AMERSHAM COURT TOLD

A court has heard that a Buckinghamshire-based engineer sexually assaulted a young girl and exploited her in a profoundly disturbing manner.

Matthew Miller, aged 50, committed the abuse on the girl during a period between 2017 and 2019, as reported by Amersham Law Courts.

Miller, who works as a self-employed electrical technician, carried out the assault at a residence in Chesham.

At his sentencing on Friday, Judge Catherine Tulk explained how Miller tried to conceal his heinous act by instructing the girl “not to say anything to anybody.” In a victim impact statement read aloud by prosecutor Jack Talbot, the girl—who cannot be named for legal reasons—revealed she now struggles with significant trust issues and feels “small.” She also expressed that the “traumatic nature of the incident” has altered her identity and outlook on life.

Miller was unanimously convicted by a jury of one count of child rape after a trial.

Judge Tulk characterized the offence as opportunistic, noting that Miller found himself in a situation unlikely to recur.

The medical evidence confirmed that the victim endured psychological damage, with her behavior shortly afterward corroborating this assessment.

Addressing Miller directly, Judge Tulk stated, "You chose to take advantage of her in pretty much the worst way possible." Miller, of Cromhamstone, Aylesbury, received a sentence of ten years, with nine years to be spent in prison.

He becomes eligible to seek parole after six years.

Additionally, he was placed on the Sex Offenders Register and ordered to comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
