MATTHEW LINDOP SENTENCED IN MABLETHORPE FOR MURDER OF CLAIRE HEELEY
A 23-year-old man, Matthew Lindop, has been sentenced to a minimum of 12 and a half years in prison after admitting guilt to the murder of Claire Heeley. Ms. Heeley, aged 21, was found dead in October 2005 along a seaside promenade near the Dunes Theatre in Mablethorpe. A post-mortem confirmed that she died from severe head injuries. During his sentencing at Lincoln Crown Court, it was highlighted that Lindop showed deep remorse for his crime. The incident occurred just hours after the two had met at a local bar, marking a sudden and tragic shift from a social gathering to violent assault.
