MARTYN FROST OF MERSHAM SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR CHILD ABUSE IN MAIDSTONE

In a harrowing case that has shocked the community of Mersham near Ashford, a man named Martyn Frost has been sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty of a series of heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of three young girls over a period of two years.

During the proceedings at Maidstone Crown Court, it was revealed that Frost, a resident of Mersham, had systematically groomed the girls, who were aged just 12, nine, and six at the time. The court heard how he manipulated and sexualized the children, making them passive and compliant to his disturbing desires. The severity of his actions was laid bare through detailed evidence presented by the prosecution.

Detectives conducted an extensive investigation, interviewing Frost on 20 separate occasions before he finally admitted to his crimes. Throughout the interviews, Frost attempted to shift blame onto the victims, claiming, “They wanted to give me a special cuddle. They wanted to do rude things.” However, the police uncovered a substantial amount of incriminating material that left no doubt about his guilt.

A significant discovery was made on Frost’s computer, where authorities found approximately 4,000 images depicting young children engaged in sexual acts. Further evidence included 28 DVDs containing graphic footage of Frost abusing the three girls, as well as 198 child sex images stored on his mobile phone. These findings played a crucial role in establishing the extent of his criminal activities.

Frost faced 57 charges, including rape, indecent assault, and the making, possession, and distribution of indecent images of children. He also denied two additional charges of making threats to kill his victims, which will remain on file but will not proceed to trial. The prosecution, led by Caroline Knight, emphasized that the video evidence was instrumental in bringing Frost’s crimes to light, stating, “But for the video evidence this abuse would never have come to light. The appalling level of abuse of the three girls was confirmed by medical evidence.”

Ms. Knight further explained that Frost used the films to relive his vile acts repeatedly, seeking sexual gratification from his heinous deeds.

In delivering his sentence, Judge Andrew Patience described Frost as a “devious and committed paedophile” and emphasized the danger he posed to children. Frost was sentenced to life imprisonment, with the judge making it clear that his actions had caused profound harm and that he represented a significant threat to the safety of young children in the community of Mersham and beyond.
