MARK WEAVER FROM FARNWORTH: SHOCKING CHILD SEX OFFENDER REARRESTED BEFORE RELEASE IN BOLTON

In a disturbing development, Mark Weaver, a convicted child sex offender from Farnworth, has been detained once again just days before he was scheduled to be released from prison in London. The news has sent shockwaves through the local community, especially among parents and residents who are deeply concerned about the safety of children in the area.

Weaver, who was serving time for multiple indecent assault charges, was originally imprisoned in 1993 after being convicted of abusing two young boys from Farnworth. His release was anticipated last Friday from Belmarsh Prison, a high-security facility in London. However, just prior to his scheduled release, authorities re-arrested him on new charges, effectively preventing his return to Farnworth and the surrounding areas.

The re-arrest came amid revelations that Weaver, now 25 years old, had been writing letters that allegedly incited another individual to commit acts of indecency against children. These allegations include encouraging someone to indecently assault a minor and to engage in acts of gross indecency with a child under 14. Such accusations have heightened fears about Weaver's potential to reoffend, especially given his troubling history.

Local residents, particularly the mother of two of Weaver’s previous victims, expressed immense relief at his continued detention. She stated, “I am so relieved he is still behind bars. It’s a weight off my shoulders. I was so frightened for my children knowing he could be free. He is a very sick and dangerous man, and I don’t think he will ever change. I don’t think he should ever be released.” Her fears are shared by many in the community, who worry about the possibility of Weaver returning to Farnworth and reoffending.

Weaver’s criminal record stretches back to his school days, with allegations of indecent assault dating as far back as 1987. He was accused of abusing a five-year-old boy on a railway embankment, and the following year, he faced accusations of assaulting a six-year-old boy. Despite being subjected to a two-year probation order, Weaver continued his offending behavior, committing a similar offence against a three-year-old boy in 1989.

In April 1993, Weaver pleaded guilty to three counts of indecent assault involving two boys from Farnworth, aged six and ten, shortly after his release from a previous jail term. A probation report subsequently indicated that Weaver was “likely to commit further serious offences,” and some experts have expressed concern that he may now be more dangerous than when he was first incarcerated four years ago.

Currently, Weaver’s family still resides in Farnworth. He is scheduled to appear before Woolwich Magistrates Court next Wednesday, where he will face charges of inciting another person to commit indecent acts against children, including inciting an assault on a child under 12 and encouraging acts of gross indecency with a child under 14. The community remains on high alert as authorities continue to monitor Weaver’s case and assess the potential threat he poses.
