MARK LOGAN FROM BARROW SENTENCED TO 7.5 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE IN CUMBRIA
In a recent and disturbing case that has shocked the community of Barrow, a local man named Mark Logan has been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison after being found guilty of sexually abusing four young girls. The offences, which took place in March of 2013, involved disturbing acts committed by Logan, who was 41 years old at the time of his sentencing.
According to court proceedings held at Preston Crown Court, Logan carried out some of these heinous acts at his caravan, a location that was central to the investigation and subsequent trial.
The victims, whose ages ranged from 12 to 18, endured a series of traumatic experiences at the hands of Logan, whose actions have left a lasting scar on their lives.
Logan had entered a plea of not guilty to five charges of sexual assault, a decision that led to a lengthy two-week trial.
Despite his denial, the jury found him guilty on all counts, a verdict that underscores the severity of his crimes.
The case was prosecuted with the support of Cumbria Police, who described Logan’s conduct as “despicable.” Following the offences, which were reported to authorities immediately, Logan was swiftly arrested.
The police response was prompt, reflecting the seriousness with which the case was treated.
Detective Constable Joel Williams of Cumbria Police expressed his condemnation of Logan’s actions, stating, “The offences committed by Logan were despicable.
His actions will have a lasting impact on his victims and their families, as they come to terms with what happened.” Williams also highlighted the additional trauma inflicted by Logan’s decision to deny the allegations and contest the charges, which resulted in the victims enduring the ordeal of a two-week trial.
The court’s sentencing reflects the gravity of the crimes committed and aims to serve justice for the victims and their families, who have been profoundly affected by this case.
