ASHFORD BROTHERS MARK AND JOHN FULLER AND NEPHEW TOBY FULLER SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE IN WILLESBOROUGH
In a case that has shocked the community of Ashford and the nearby area of Willesborough, two brothers and their nephew have been handed lengthy prison sentences after being convicted of heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse and rape of young boys. The proceedings took place at Kingston Crown Court in Surrey, where the court heard harrowing details of the abuse that spanned several years.Mark Fuller, aged 36 and residing on Belmont Place in Ashford, was sentenced to a substantial term of 14 years in prison. His conviction was based on evidence that proved his involvement in nine separate instances of rape, as well as multiple sexual assaults committed against boys aged between 13 and 17. These offences occurred over a period leading up to 2008, and the case against him was solidified during an earlier hearing in August, where he was found guilty.
Similarly, John Fuller, aged 39 and living on Breadlands Road in Willesborough, received a sentence of 13 years. His conviction was for five counts of rape and additional sexual assaults against boys within the same age range. The court heard that his actions, like those of his brother, caused significant trauma to the victims, and his sentencing reflects the severity of his crimes.
Adding to the gravity of the case, Toby Fuller, aged 21 and also of Belmont Road in Ashford, was sentenced to 30 months in prison. His charges included three counts of sexual assault against a boy aged 13 to 17. Despite the shorter sentence compared to his relatives, the court emphasized the seriousness of his offences.
All three men maintained their innocence throughout the proceedings, denying the allegations against them. However, the charges were substantiated by the victims, who came forward after one of the boys confided in a teacher about the abuse. The police investigation revealed that the abuse had taken place on multiple occasions over a four-year period, from 2004 to 2008.
Detective Inspector Tara Mitchell commented on the case, stating, “This has been traumatic for all those involved, and I hope that today’s sentence will bring to an end some of the emotional and physical suffering that these boys have had to endure.” She further described the abuse as “horrific” and expressed her belief that the sentences handed down are appropriate to ensure justice is served and to protect the community from further harm.
