MARK BRADLEY FROM AMESBURY SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS FOR ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRLS IN WINCHESTER

A man named Mark Bradley, aged 44 and formerly residing on Antrobus Road in Amesbury, has been sentenced to a significant prison term after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offenses involving young girls. The sentencing took place at Winchester Crown Court, where the jury found him guilty of a total of ten charges, including four counts of rape, two of which involved victims aged between 13 and 15 years old, as well as three charges of cruelty to a child. Additionally, Bradley was convicted of causing actual bodily harm, four counts of indecent assault, and one count of sexual assault.

These heinous acts reportedly began when the victims were as young as seven years old, a fact that underscores the severity and prolonged nature of the abuse. Despite his denials, the jury's verdict was clear, and the court proceedings, which lasted four weeks starting from May 16, culminated in a conviction that Judge John Dixon described as “as chilling as it is shocking.” The judge emphasized the profound and lasting damage inflicted upon the victims, stating that Bradley’s actions had caused “unquestionable and incalculable damage.”

In his sentencing remarks, Judge Dixon sentenced Bradley to 16 years in prison, with a minimum of eight years to be served before eligibility for parole. He also imposed a two-year extension on license conditions upon release. The judge did not hold back in condemning Bradley’s conduct, describing his behavior as animalistic, callous, and brutal, and criticizing his apparent lack of remorse or acceptance of guilt. During the sentencing, Bradley unexpectedly shouted out, “I have done nothing to be ashamed of,” displaying a defiant attitude.

Furthermore, Bradley was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely, and a sexual offences prevention order was issued to restrict his future conduct. A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police issued a statement condemning Bradley’s actions, calling him “a manipulative and depraved man who intimidated and sexually abused these girls over a period of many years.” The police representative praised the bravery of the victims, acknowledging the trauma they endured in coming forward and reporting the abuse. The statement also encouraged other victims of sexual abuse to contact law enforcement authorities, emphasizing the importance of support and justice for survivors.
