YEADON MAIN JAILED AFTER STALKING WOMAN FOR THREE MONTHS
A 54-YEAR-old man has been jailed after admitting stalking a woman over a three-month period.
Mark Boland, of West View Court, Yeadon, admitted that his conduct towards the woman amounted to stalking and caused her serious alarm or distress.
The charge, which covered June 1 to September 22, saw him repeatedly send unwanted text messages, phone calls, letters, and emails, as well as turning up at her home or driving past in his vehicle.
Appearing at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on September 23, Boland was jailed for 32 weeks in total.
Court documents show magistrates believed the offence was so serious because it took place over a prolonged period and due to the impact on the victim.
It was also thought that the risk of re-offending was high.
A restraining order was made until further notice.
