MARCUS PROCTOR FROM BARRY GATESHEAD AND NEWCASTLE JAILED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the local communities, Marcus Proctor, a man originally from Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, has been convicted of heinous sexual offenses involving a young child. The incidents took place while Proctor was residing in Gateshead, but he was apprehended in the Walker area of Newcastle.Proctor, aged 21 at the time of sentencing, was found guilty at Newcastle Crown Court of three counts of causing or inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity. The charges specifically relate to instances where he engaged in oral sex with a four-year-old boy on three separate occasions. The severity of these allegations underscores the grave nature of the crimes committed.
The court's verdict came after a detailed investigation that revealed Proctor's disturbing history. It was disclosed that he had previously been caught for sex-related offenses against children. In 2007, while still living in Barry, he received a caution for indecently exposing himself to a six-year-old child. This earlier incident highlighted a pattern of predatory behavior that spanned several years.
Following his conviction, Proctor was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Additionally, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for a period of ten years and was mandated to adhere to a sex offenders prevention order, which imposes strict restrictions aimed at preventing further offenses.
Despite his criminal record, Proctor has continued to maintain a presence on social media. As of July 2019, he was active on Facebook under a false name, raising concerns about his attempts to evade detection and continue his online activities. It was also noted that he was released from prison in June 2015 and has since been seen on Facebook, indicating ongoing issues related to monitoring and managing convicted offenders in the community.
