In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Cirencester, two individuals, Marc Hill, aged 27, and Sian Donnachie, aged 21, have been found guilty of heinous crimes involving the sexual exploitation of minors. On a recent Friday, Marc Hill was sentenced to two years in prison after being convicted of multiple offenses against two girls under the age of 16. The court heard that Hill engaged in sexual abuse of one young girl, while also coercing another into sending explicit photographs of herself. The case was further compounded by Hill’s involvement with his girlfriend, Donnachie, who actively participated in his disturbing fantasies and acts of abuse.

The court was told that in May 2017, Donnachie, who was 21 at the time, willingly joined her partner in his sickening sexual fantasies involving young girls. Evidence presented during the trial detailed how Donnachie had stripped naked and stood in front of a teenage girl as part of their bizarre sexual interactions. The couple had exchanged approximately 1,800 pages of text messages, which revealed the depth of their depravity, including detailed discussions about sexual assault and rape of the young girl. Prosecutor Virginia Cornwall described these exchanges as “horrendous to read,” emphasizing that they painted a picture of a calculated grooming process.

Both Hill and Donnachie appeared in court, with the victims present alongside police officers. Donnachie pleaded guilty to inciting a teenage girl to engage in sexual activity by exposing herself naked in front of her. She also admitted to possessing six Category B and 19 Category C child abuse images. Hill, on the other hand, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including sexual assault of the girl before she was a teenager, inciting her to engage in sexual acts, and having sexual contact with her when she was older. He also admitted to encouraging another under-16 girl to send him explicit photographs of her breasts. Further charges included making and distributing indecent images of children, with Hill admitting to creating 53 Category C images during the relevant period.

The judge, Michael Cullum, sentenced Hill to sign the sex offender register for ten years and imposed a sexual harm prevention order. Donnachie was ordered to sign the register for seven years and complete a 60-day rehabilitation program. The judge highlighted the disturbing nature of the evidence, particularly the 1,800 pages of text messages that revealed a “poisonous backdrop” to the abuse, especially targeting the younger girl. He described the exchanges as “horrendous,” noting that Hill’s fantasies involved the sexual assault and rape of the girl, with Donnachie actively encouraging and embellishing these ideas.

Further details emerged about Hill’s online activities. Police discovered that Hill had been communicating with the older girl via Facebook, repeatedly asking her to send explicit photos. When she refused, Hill became threatening, telling her he would kidnap and rape her if she did not comply. Under pressure, she eventually sent eight indecent images. The impact on the victims was profound; the younger girl reported suffering from lowered academic performance, feelings of depression, and difficulty concentrating, indicating the lasting psychological scars inflicted by the abuse.

In a related case from March 2017, Donnachie, then 20, admitted to inciting a 13-year-old girl into sexual activity. She also pleaded guilty to possessing multiple indecent images of children. The court heard that Donnachie’s involvement was motivated by her desire to please Hill, with whom she had a close relationship. Hill had previously admitted to nine sex-related charges, including inciting a different under-16 girl to send him explicit photos and possessing numerous indecent images himself.

Judge Jamie Tabor QC described the case as “troubling,” emphasizing the difficulty in distinguishing between fantasy and reality in such disturbing circumstances. Both defendants now face significant sentences, with Hill’s criminal record including multiple convictions for child exploitation, and Donnachie’s guilty plea marking her as complicit in these grave offenses.
