MALCOME DON FROM HALKIRK SENTENCED TO SIX MONTHS FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES IN CASTLETOWN
A resident of Halkirk, Malcome Don, has been sentenced to six months in prison following a conviction related to the possession and creation of indecent images of children.The decision was made after a thorough review by the court, which considered the social worker’s assessment that no alternative measures could adequately address the severity of his actions.
Malcome Don, aged 43 and residing at Seaforth Gardens in Halkirk, appeared before Wick Sheriff Court to face sentencing on charges stemming from incidents that occurred between July 1, 2007, and January 29, 2009.
The charges involved the taking, allowing to be taken, or making of indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of minors.
These offenses were linked to an address in Pentland Place, Castletown, where the alleged activities took place.
During the court proceedings, Don admitted to breaching a previous probation order that was related to the same offenses.
The breach was a significant factor in the court’s decision to impose a custodial sentence, reflecting the seriousness with which the judicial system treats such violations.
In addition to his six-month imprisonment, Don was also subjected to a sexual offences prevention order, which will remain in effect for seven years.
