LYALL PERT FROM INVERGOWRIE FACES JAIL FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGE OFFENSES NEAR DUNDEE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Lyall Pert, a joiner from Invergowrie near Dundee, is now facing a potential prison sentence after admitting to possessing and downloading a significant number of child abuse images. The incident came to light when police executed a search warrant at Pert’s residence on Greystane Road in Invergowrie on June 11 of the previous year.During the raid, officers uncovered a troubling collection of digital material. Pert was reportedly heard telling his partner, “I can’t stop,” as he was taken into custody, highlighting the severity of his actions. Law enforcement officials seized a laptop computer, two mobile phones, and a tablet from his home, which subsequently revealed a disturbing cache of illegal content.
Investigators found a total of 277 images and four videos depicting minors, ranging from infants to children approximately 15 years old. Some of these images and videos were described as “extremely graphic,” underscoring the heinous nature of the material involved. The content featured both male and female victims, further emphasizing the disturbing scope of Pert’s offenses.
Lyall Pert, aged 53 and residing on Greystane Road, pleaded guilty on indictment to charges related to the downloading and possession of indecent images of children. He also admitted to breaching bail conditions previously set by the court. The court deferred sentencing until the following month, during which Pert was placed on the sex offenders’ register, a measure intended to monitor his activities and prevent further offenses.
As the case continues, the community awaits the final sentencing, which could see Pert face a lengthy prison term for his involvement in this serious criminal activity. The authorities have emphasized the importance of tackling such offenses to protect vulnerable children and uphold justice.
