RAPIST 'SHOULD BE NOWHERE NEAR WOMEN' AFTER THREATENING TO KILL AND DUMP VICTIM IN CANAL
A Sheffield man considered ‘dangerous’ and not suitable to be around women has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after a series of violent crimes, including rapes and threats.Luke Scott was convicted of assaulting two women, with allegations of threatening to kill one victim and attempting to hide her in a canal.
The first victim explained that his four-month campaign of abusive behaviour left her feeling as though her overall sense of safety had been compromised forever.
Throughout the trial, it was detailed how Scott had demanded money from one victim to buy cannabis.
Upon her refusal, he physically assaulted her, grabbing her arm and delivering four punches to her face.
He then pulled out a kitchen knife and screwdriver, making threats to kill her and hide her body.
His violent tendencies continued as he threw a glass coffee table at her and committed multiple rapes.
A second woman later reported that Scott had assaulted her over an evening, hitting her with a piece of a vacuum cleaner and raping her despite her protests and attempts to prevent the attack.
She described feeling so afraid that she ceased resisting, emotionally withdrawing as the assault continued until Scott finally stopped.
In her victim’s statement, she revealed that her daily environment now served as a constant reminder of her trauma, leaving her feeling haunted and trapped.
She expressed a hope that Scott would never threaten her again.
Scott, 32 years old and from Gleadless Road, was found guilty of fourteen charges after a swift three-hour jury deliberation at Sheffield Crown Court on January 31.
The case’s outcome was supported by remarks from Investigations Officer Alyshea Sharp, who noted the bravery of the victims and emphasized that Scott’s behaviour was entirely unacceptable.
She also reaffirmed the police’s commitment to investigating allegations of sexual and violent offences thoroughly.
On March 22, Scott received a sentence comprising four years for assault, three for rape, along with convictions for harassment, threats, theft, criminal damage, strangulation, and controlling behaviour.
The total sentence sums to 18 years, with an additional four years on license after his release.
He has also been ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely.
