A man has received a 22-year prison sentence after being convicted of multiple counts of rape and sexual assault involving a child under 13.Luke Ridley, age 33 (born 19/12/1992), from Yateley, was sentenced at Guildford Crown Court on 23 July to a term of 22 years behind bars, accompanied by an extended licence period of five years.
The young victim, who was only 11 years old in January 2021, confided in a family member that Ridley had raped her during the first COVID-19 lockdown.
Further disclosures revealed that Ridley had sexually assaulted her at least twice weekly since she was five years old.
During the court proceedings, the now 17-year-old victim delivered her victim impact statement and addressed Ridley directly, stating: “You made me a victim, but today I stand in front of you a survivor.”
