LOCHGELLY MAN LUKE RAMAGE ADMITS TO DOWNLOADING CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MATERIAL IN FIFE
A resident of Lochgelly has pleaded guilty to possessing and downloading explicit images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children. Luke Ramage, who turned 20 on the day he appeared in court, admitted to engaging in this illegal activity over an 18-month period. The case was heard at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, where it was revealed that Ramage had been actively involved in acquiring such material through digital means.According to court reports, Ramage was found to have expressed concern in a WhatsApp chat that some of the child abuse content had been lost from a device and sought assistance in recovering it. During the investigation, authorities uncovered a disturbing cache of images and videos, some of which depicted very young children, including girls as young as one year old, being subjected to sexual acts. It was also noted that Ramage, who is understood to be transitioning to female and was referred to in court as “Bea,” had stored material involving children between the ages of one and nine.
The police action was initiated after a tip-off led officers to conduct a raid at Ramage’s residence in Kirkcaldy. At approximately 8:35 in the morning, detective constables executed a search warrant at the address, which was shared with Ramage’s stepfather. During the search, Ramage’s mother was also present. The officers seized two mobile phones from the premises, both of which Ramage confirmed belonged to them and provided the passcodes for access.
Subsequent examinations of the devices revealed a significant amount of illegal content. One phone contained 23 images and eight videos, with the videos totaling over 20 minutes in runtime. All videos were classified as Category A, indicating the most severe level of abuse material. The images and videos included searches for terms such as “child porn,” “baby porn,” and “infant porn,” alongside the WhatsApp conversation where Ramage sought help in recovering lost files.
The second phone was found to contain 109 images and 28 videos, with a combined duration of over 50 minutes. Like the first device, all content was classified as Category A. Ramage admitted to downloading this material between March 2024 and September 2025. The court heard that the investigation was ongoing, and sentencing was deferred pending the preparation of reports. In the meantime, Ramage was placed on the sex offenders register. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the distribution and possession of child abuse images, especially involving individuals from local communities such as Lochgelly and Kirkcaldy.
