FOOTBALLER IAIN CAMPBELL LOCKED UP OVER ABUSIVE MESSAGES TO EX
Former Dunfermline footballer Iain Campbell ended up behind bars after breaching a court order by sending abusive messages.
Campbell, 40, Paxton Crescent, Lochgelly, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted he breached a non-harassment order on March 26 by contacting his former partner with text messages.
During his football career Campbell played for clubs including Dunfermline, Forfar, Montrose, Ross County, Alloa and Cowdenbeath.
He is the son of veteran football manager Dick Campbell.
Depute fiscal Eve McKaig said it appeared Campbell had become “irate” and the messages sent included “scum” and “horrible b*******”.
Sheriff Derek Reekie told Campbell: “I don’t know what you’re doing sending disgusting messages like that and you’ll soon find it’s not a smart thing to do.
Any more of this and you’ll be in an even more difficult position.” He called for reports and Campbell was released ahead of sentencing on May 13.
