LUKE HARRISON AND LIAM TATTERSALL BRUTALLY ABUSE DOG IN KINGSTON UPON HULL

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Kingston upon Hull, two cousins, Luke Harrison and Liam Martin Tattersall, were found guilty of subjecting a defenseless Staffordshire bull terrier named Patchy to a relentless and merciless assault.

The incident took place at the Skipsea Sands holiday park in East Yorkshire, where witnesses observed the pair physically abusing the dog in various distressing ways.

According to court reports, Harrison, born on April 25, 1993, and residing at Weighton Grove, Hull HU6 8NE, along with Tattersall, born around 2000 and from Park Grove, Hull HU5, were seen repeatedly punching, slapping, and kicking the animal.

Witnesses recounted seeing Harrison, who is a father of two with a partner named Natasha Sylvester—who was also prosecuted in connection with the case—hit Patchy with his fist on two separate occasions, causing the dog to yelp in pain.

Similarly, Tattersall was observed striking the dog twice on the head with force and kicking him, actions that demonstrated a blatant disregard for the animal’s suffering.

The abuse was not limited to a single incident.

The witnesses reported that Harrison and Tattersall moved from their caravan into a tent at the site, during which time they could see shadows indicating one of the men was hitting the dog again.

When a witness approached the tent to intervene, Harrison responded dismissively, saying, “What’s it got to do with you?

Mind your own business.” The witnesses then called site security, and during questioning, Harrison justified his actions by stating, “That is how we have been taught to treat animals.” Over the following days, the witnesses observed the pair continuing their violent treatment of Patchy, including punching and swearing at him, telling the dog to “get out of the f**king way.” During an investigation conducted by the RSPCA, Tattersall admitted to having seen Harrison treat the dog in the same manner and claimed that he was simply imitating him.

Harrison, on his part, justified his cruelty by saying, “He was whinging and crying all day, what else was I supposed to do?” The court heard that the abuse inflicted on Patchy was unnecessary and cruel, highlighting the severity of the case.

RSPCA prosecutor Andrew Davidson emphasized that the attack was on a vulnerable and defenseless animal, and the actions of the two men were deeply troubling.

In mitigation, Luke Harrison’s legal representatives explained that he did not attend the trial due to childcare responsibilities, as he lives in a household with six children.

They also noted that Harrison expressed “enormous regret” for his actions and has no prior issues in his adult life.

Similarly, Liam Tattersall’s defense stated that he felt “extremely remorseful” and that his involvement was driven by immaturity and influence from others.

Sentencing was handed down with serious consequences for both men.

Luke Harrison received a 12-week suspended sentence, was ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work, and was disqualified from owning a dog for 15 years.

Liam Tattersall was given an eight-week suspended sentence, 60 hours of unpaid work, and a 10-year ban from owning a dog.

This case has also brought to light the involvement of Harrison’s partner, Natasha Sylvester, who was prosecuted by the RSPCA in relation to the same incident.

It remains unclear whether charges against her were ultimately dropped or are still pending.

The community and animal welfare organizations continue to condemn such acts of cruelty, emphasizing the importance of holding offenders accountable and protecting vulnerable animals from harm.
