A man who forcibly strangled his wife until she lost consciousness has been sentenced to prison.
Luke Davey, aged 35, carried out the assault at the family home in Doddington, close to March, during the early hours of November 16 last year.
At the time, the couple was in the middle of separating, and an argument erupted between them.
During the dispute, the wife recorded the incident using her mobile phone.
Davey seized her device and then wrapped his hands around her neck, cutting off her air supply for roughly 15 seconds.
He also pulled her out of her daughter’s bedroom while she was attempting to call the police from another phone.
On April 21, at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court, Davey, who resides on Marshall’s Road in Raunds near Wellingborough, was sentenced to one year in prison after admitting to the charge of intentional strangulation.
Additionally, he received a five-year restraining order prohibiting contact with the victim.
