TEENAGE RAPIST LUKE CHAMBERS SENTENCED AFTER DNA TEST CONFIRMS GUILT
A cocaine-fuelled teenage rapist, Luke Chambers, has admitted guilt after DNA evidence confirmed he was responsible for the assault.
The incident occurred in a field near Bishop Auckland where Chambers, aged 18, grabbed and sexually assaulted his victim, a teenage girl, while he was with a friend.
Despite the victim's efforts to intervene, Chambers stole her phone and raped her out of sight from her friend.
Prosecutor Jane Waugh explained that initial denial by Chambers was replaced once the victim's baby's DNA proved him to be the father.
Chambers pleaded guilty to charges of rape, assault by penetration, and sexual assault.
The court sentenced him to nearly four years in a young offenders' institution and imposed a lifelong restraining order, along with registration on the sex offenders’ register.
The victim remains traumatized but focuses on caring for her child, showing remarkable courage amidst her ordeal.
