LOUIS SMELLIE FROM ERITH SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE IN EAST LONDON

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community, Louis Smellie, a 57-year-old man from Erith, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for a prolonged period of child abuse spanning over a decade. The conviction follows the courageous testimonies of two young girls who, after remaining silent for many years, finally came forward to reveal the extent of the horrific treatment they endured at the hands of Smellie.

According to court records, Smellie began abusing the two girls when they were only four years old. The abuse, which included physical, psychological, and sexual violence, continued unabated until the girls reached their teenage years. The incidents took place across various locations in east London, notably in Thamesmead and Ilford, between the years 1984 and 1995.

The victims’ bravery in breaking their silence was instrumental in bringing Smellie to justice.
