CROWN PROSECUTION SERVICE ANNOUNCES THREE PEOPLE CHARGED WITH HUMAN TRAFFICKING OFFENCES
The Crown Prosecution Service has issued a statement indicating that Khondaker Fuad Hasan, Liu Xu Hopkins, and Benjamin Hopkins face multiple charges.They are accused of conspiracy to commit human trafficking, in violation of Section 2 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and Section 1 of the Criminal Law Act 1977.
Additionally, they are charged with conspiracy to control prostitution for financial gain, under Section 53 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and Section 1 of the Criminal Law Act 1977.
Furthermore, charges include conspiracy to transfer criminal property, contrary to Section 327(1)(d) of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and Section 1 of the Criminal Law Act 1977.
These charges follow an investigation carried out by the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit, which examined alleged involvement in organized human trafficking and money laundering across seven venues in England; these include two locations in Chippenham, as well as venues in Gloucester, Bury St Edmunds, Reading, Cheltenham, and Ely.
