BIRMINGHAM MAN LIONEL MCINTOSH JAILED FOR 12 YEARS IN PREDATORY RAPE CASE
A 'MANIPULATIVE and predatory' sex offender named Lionel McIntosh, aged 46, from Avon Croft House, Chelmsley Wood, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for raping a woman in her Birmingham home.McIntosh had a prior conviction from 2001 for raping a young French student after luring her to his flat, and he had also been previously convicted for indecent assault on two girls over several years.
In the recent case, he went to the victim's home in Nechells on January 28 of that year, despite her not wanting him there.
He pushed his way in, causing the door handle to break, then threatened her with a knife, demanding sex.
When she refused, he humiliated her by making her perform a sex act before raping her, pushing her against the stairs.
The ordeal lasted 50 minutes, ending only when others heard the commotion and knocked on the door, prompting McIntosh to flee by jumping over a fence.
During sentencing, Judge Gareth Evans QC described McIntosh as a manipulative and predatory individual with a history of serious sexual offences, including rape and indecent assault.
The judge sentenced him to 12 years, with an extended license of seven years, and ordered him to register as a sex offender for life.
The court considered him dangerous and a significant risk to others, stating he acts regardless of consequences.
Defense lawyer Amanda O'Mara noted a 14-year gap between the recent offence and previous serious sex crimes, suggesting rehabilitation efforts in prison would reduce his risk upon release.
