LIAM WILLIAMS FROM LLANDYBIE SENTENCED TO A YEAR IN PRISON FOR VIOLATING COURT ORDERS AND ASSAULTING POLICE OFFICERS

Liam Williams, aged 23, found himself at the center of a serious legal incident after he unlawfully entered the home of his former partner, Danielle Lynley, in Llandybie.

Despite having a court-issued restraining order prohibiting any contact with Lynley, Williams disregarded this legal restriction and visited her residence on December 5 while heavily intoxicated.

His presence at her home was marked by aggressive behavior, including hurling offensive names such as "c***" and "dirty s***" at Lynley, and physically pushing her.

During this confrontation, he also caused damage to her property, specifically to a light switch and door handles, further escalating the situation.

When police officers arrived at the scene, they found Williams lying on her sofa, clearly intoxicated.

As they attempted to detain him, Williams made three separate attempts to headbutt an officer, with the third attempt being deliberate and forceful enough that the officer had to pull his head back to avoid injury.

This aggressive act prompted his immediate arrest, and he was taken into custody.

While in detention, Williams exhibited further misconduct by urinating in his cell, demonstrating a lack of cooperation and respect for the authorities.

Williams, who does not have a fixed address, has an extensive criminal record.

His previous convictions include assaulting an emergency worker, criminal damage, drunk and disorderly conduct, and assault causing actual bodily harm.

These prior offenses highlight a pattern of violent and disruptive behavior.

During the court proceedings, prosecutor Craig Jones detailed Williams’s repeated attempts to assault police officers, emphasizing that his final headbutt attempt was clearly intentional.

The court also noted that Williams had breached his bail conditions by approaching his ex-partner’s home unexpectedly, despite the existing restraining order.

It was revealed that Williams’s breaches of court orders are not isolated incidents.

On November 20, he attempted to deceive police during a search by producing probation documents, admitting that he knew he was not supposed to be near Lynley’s residence.

His solicitor acknowledged his persistent breaches but argued that there were underlying domestic issues motivating his visits.

Nonetheless, the court made it clear that such breaches cannot be tolerated.

Judge Huw Rees sentenced Liam Williams to serve 12 months in prison.

The court also confirmed that the restraining order against him will remain in effect until 2025, emphasizing that even if Lynley invites him into her home, he is legally obliged to obey the court order.

The judge issued a stern warning that any future breaches would result in longer sentences, underscoring the seriousness of respecting court directives and the safety of victims.
