NORTHAMPTON MAN JAILED FOR GROOMING AND SEXUAL ABUSE OF TEEN IN TAMESIDE
Levi Lovey, a 21-year-old man living at Arbour View Court in Northampton, has been found guilty of multiple severe sexual offences, including attempted rape, sexual assault, and engaging in sexual activities with a minor, after a trial at Manchester Crown Court.In April 2019, Lovey targeted a teenage schoolboy in Tameside, taking advantage of the trust placed in him by adults around him.
Court reports describe how Lovey manipulated the victim through games and inflicted harm to satisfy his own sexual desires.
The court sentenced him to three years in prison, and he is also mandated to register as a sex offender for life.
Furthermore, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order was put in place to help protect the community.
Following the proceedings, Detective Constable Sajid Pervaiz commended the bravery of the victim for testifying in court, acknowledging the trauma associated with such experiences.
An NSPCC spokesperson condemned Lovey as a sexual predator, highlighting the enduring effects of abuse and encouraging victims to come forward at any time.
The officer expressed optimism that the sentence sends a clear message that justice will be sought for sexual abuse victims, and reassured the public that safeguarding authorities remain committed to prevention and support efforts.
