LEANOARD PAUN AND GATESHEAD SUSPECTS CHARGED WITH SEX OFFENCES AGAINST UNDERAGE GIRLS

A serious investigation has led to the charging of six men with multiple sex offences involving underage girls in the Gateshead area. The individuals, identified as Codrin Dura, 25, Leonard Paun, 22, Stefan Ciuraru, 21, Bogdan Gugiuman, 43, Klaudio Aleksiu, 27, and Ionut Mihai, 27, are accused of committing these crimes against six females all under the age of 18.

Authorities have emphasized the importance of avoiding speculation both within the community and on online platforms, warning that such behavior could potentially interfere with ongoing legal proceedings. The police are urging the public to allow the judicial process to unfold without interference or unfounded rumors.

Codrin Dura, who resides on Ripon Street in Bensham, Gateshead, faces a total of 17 charges. These include eight counts of rape, four counts of sexual activity with a minor, one count of attempted rape, and additional charges such as assault by penetration, arranging or facilitating a child sex offence, supplying a Class A drug, and blackmail.

Leonard Paun, living on Windsor Avenue in Saltwell, Gateshead, has been charged with 11 offences. His allegations include five counts of rape, two counts related to facilitating or arranging child sex offences, as well as charges of sexual activity with a minor, sexual assault, distributing photographs of a child, and supplying a Class A drug.

Stefan Ciuraru, from Brinkburn Avenue in Saltwell, Gateshead, faces six charges. These comprise four counts of sexual assault, one count of sexual activity with a minor, and one count of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

Bogdan Gugiuman, who lives on Westbourne Avenue in Saltwell, Gateshead, has been charged with four counts of rape and one count of supplying a Class A drug. Meanwhile, Klaudio Aleksiu, from Church Terrace in Windsor, Berkshire, faces two counts of rape and one count of supplying a Class A drug.

Lastly, Ionut Mihai, residing on Claremont South Avenue in Bensham, Gateshead, has been charged with three counts of rape. All six men appeared before Newcastle Magistrates' Court last week, where they were released on conditional bail. They are scheduled to return to court in August for further proceedings. The authorities continue to investigate these allegations, emphasizing the need for patience and restraint from the public during this sensitive time.
