PUPPY PUT DOWN AFTER 'SADISTIC' OWNER CUT OFF ITS TOES
Leon Kramolis was sentenced to a two-year community order and banned from keeping animals for life after causing unnecessary suffering to a Staffordshire bull terrier puppy named Rex.
The court heard that Kramolis inflicted severe injuries, including mutilating the dog's toes by cutting them to the quick and beyond.
The puppy was found with a broken skull, jaw, ribs, and signs of septicaemia from older untreated injuries.
CCTV footage showed Kramolis slapping the dog, wrapping a dish cloth around its head, pulling at its limbs, and placing a mug over its face.
He was caught on camera fetching knives and hiding the puppy inside his room, where it was found to be motionless and unwell, with bloodstained sheets.
The puppy was euthanised due to its condition.
Kramolis, 25, of no fixed address, admitted to causing unnecessary suffering and other welfare offences.
He was ordered to complete 42 days of rehabilitation activity as part of his community order.
