TEENAGER HANDED 10-YEAR BAN FOR SHOCKING DOG ABUSE IN WEST BROMWICH
Evans pleaded guilty to five animal welfare offences following an investigation and prosecution by the RSPCA.
The footage showing Evans hitting, throwing, and aggressively handling the puppies, Bella and Butler, was captured on a doorbell camera and shared with the RSPCA.
The animals were seized by police and placed in the care of the animal charity.
The court heard in mitigation that Evans had been drinking at the time and had "mental health challenges." RSPCA inspector Graeme Brookes stated: “Dogs feel pain and suffering just like we do and always deserve to be shown kindness and compassion at all times.” He was sentenced to a two-year community order with 200 hours of unpaid work and 30 days of rehab, ordered to pay £400 in court costs and a victim surcharge of £114, and received a 10-year animal ban, which can be appealed after seven years (expires October 2035).
