Lee Reszka, who resides in Longridge, Knutsford, was found guilty of both rape and attempted rape on Friday, 3 July, after a five-day hearing at Liverpool Crown Court.
The 35-year-old has been placed in custody and is scheduled to return to court on Monday, 10 August, for his sentencing.
In November 2023, Reszka visited the victim’s home claiming he was searching for a mutual acquaintance, fully aware that they were not at the premises.
During his visit, the victim allowed Reszka to use the toilet, but instead of leaving afterwards, he approached her and attempted to carry out a sexual assault.
Although the victim managed to escape, Reszka then performed oral rape on her before departing.
After the incident, she confided in friends, leading to police investigations.
Forensic analysis of clothing worn by the victim revealed DNA that matched Reszka.
The victim also sustained injuries that were consistent with the assault.
