Sussex rapist Lee Reeves jailed for nine years after violent assault

SUSSEX RAPIST LEE REEVES JAILED FOR NINE YEARS AFTER VIOLENT ASSAULT

A RAPIST held down his victim and forced himself upon her in a harrowing attack.

The woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was left feeling “humiliated” and “degraded” by the violence.

At Lewes Crown Court, Reeves was found guilty of rape and coercive and controlling behaviour.

The case detailed Reeves attacking the Sussex woman who had told him she did not want to have sex with him.

The victim described feeling humiliated and degraded after the assault.

Reeves was accused of violent acts including trying to choke her, kicking her when on the ground, and spitting on her.

On the night of the attack, after an argument where he accused her of being frigid and called her a slug, he forcibly held her down and had sex against her will.

Reeves, who appeared for sentencing before Her Honour Judge Janet Waddicor, was sentenced to nine years in prison—seven for rape, of which he will serve two-thirds, and an additional two years for coercive and controlling behaviour.

He will also be on a notification register for life.

The court also described Reeves as a charming, attractive, and adventurous man but noted that he struggled with alcohol and cocaine abuse, which may have contributed to his actions.
