REDHILL MAN LEE MOULSON ADMITTED TO MAKING THOUSANDS OF CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
In October 2012, Lee David Moulson, a 30-year-old resident of St John’s Road in Redhill, pleaded guilty to creating over 5,000 indecent images of children. The images ranged from category one, which involved erotic posing, to category five, which can include sadism or bestiality.Moulson was convicted on 25 charges related to these images and appeared at Redhill Magistrates' Court last Friday. He was referred to the Crown Court for sentencing, with the chair of the bench, Anne Terry, stating, “The offences are so serious, you need greater punishment than is available to this court.”
Standing quietly in the dock and dressed in a white shirt and black leather jacket, Moulson confirmed his name and plea. He admitted to 20 separate charges of making a single indecent photograph of a child, involving minors as young as 10 years old, predating December 7 of the previous year.
Additionally, he pleaded guilty to creating 4,221 category one images, 137 category two images, 242 category three images, 815 category four images, and 42 category five images.
Defence representative Colin Furness did not oppose the proceedings, and the case was scheduled for sentencing at Guildford Crown Court on October 26.
Child protection organizations have expressed outrage over the case. Jon Brown, head of strategy and development for sexual abuse at the NSPCC, commented to the Mirror: “This is a deeply distressing case where a man has admitted creating thousands of indecent images of young children, with many showing extreme levels of abuse.
“People viewing these pictures contribute to the perpetuation of child sexual abuse.
“We also need to remember the victims in this case who have had to suffer terrible abuse and may well need support and therapy to help overcome this incident.”
Following his court appearance, Moulson was released on unconditional bail while awaiting sentencing.
