DUNDEE MAN JAILED FOR DECADE OF DOMESTIC ABUSE AND ASSAULTING EX-PARTNER
A Dundee domestic abuser gave a middle finger salute to the sheriff who jailed him for a “catalogue” of attacks on his ex-partner.Lee Henderson left the woman “permanently disfigured” during 15 years of torment at addresses in the city.
The thug was told he was lucky not to have been prosecuted at jury level for the assaults.
The 38-year-old repeatedly punched his victim on the head and body and struck her on the leg with a car key, leading to the injury and disfigurement, between January 2010 and December 2016.
He repeatedly punched her on the head and body to her injury in September 2012 and threw a knife at her on an occasion between December 2010 and December 2016.
At Dundee Sheriff Court, Henderson, of Adamson Court, also admitted engaging in an abusive course of behaviour towards the woman.
She was pushed against a wall and kicked on the body with steel-toed boots, leaving her ankles swollen.
Gravy was thrown over her by the brute, who shouted, swore, seized her hair and threw her to the ground.
It was revealed how the woman hit her head on the ground, before being kicked on the body by Henderson, who seized her mouth and forced it open.
Those offences were committed between December 2024 and September this year.
Henderson previously pled guilty to the charges and returned to the dock for sentencing after a social work report had been compiled.
Solicitor Kevin Hampton acknowledged: “He seems to have learned that sort of behaviour.
There’s clearly an alcohol problem.” Sheriff Derek Hamilton jailed Henderson for a total of 14 months and made him subject to a five-year non-harassment order.
He said: “It’s a significant catalogue of abuse over many, many years and what surprises me is you’re not appearing on indictment for this matter.
That’s fortunate for you as the extent of my sentencing powers is 12 months.” Prior to being led to the cells in handcuffs, Henderson gave Sheriff Hamilton the middle finger, which went unnoticed.
