KYLE THOMPSON OF CLEVELEYS SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON GIRLS NEAR FLEETWOOD BUS STOP

In a disturbing incident that took place in Fleetwood, Lancashire, Kyle Thompson, a 31-year-old man from Cleveleys, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison following a series of alarming sexual offenses against young girls. The events unfolded on November 10 of the previous year, when Thompson's disruptive behavior culminated in a serious assault on two 12-year-old girls outside a youth bus parked at the Chatsworth estate.

According to court proceedings, Thompson boarded the Lancashire County Council-operated youth bus at approximately 7 pm, causing a commotion among the children and staff present. Witnesses reported that he was visibly intoxicated, exhibiting signs of alcohol consumption and possibly drug influence, as he behaved in an erratic and aggressive manner. The court heard that Thompson used offensive language towards both the children and the staff, further escalating the disturbance.

During his time on the bus, Thompson engaged in inappropriate and criminal conduct. He forcibly kissed two 12-year-old girls and, in a further act of misconduct, groped and squeezed the breast of one of the girls when her friend attempted to intervene. The court was told that Thompson also attempted to insert his phone into a young girl’s bra, an act that added to the severity of his offenses. The situation drew the attention of a passing woman, who began calling the police as Thompson continued his disruptive behavior.

As the woman confronted him, Thompson responded aggressively, confronting her directly. When her 16-year-old son intervened to de-escalate the situation, Thompson reacted violently, punching the young man in the chest before fleeing the scene. The police were subsequently alerted, and Thompson was apprehended and brought before Preston Crown Court.

Judge James Adkin presided over the case, describing Thompson’s actions as clearly out of control and highly inappropriate. The judge emphasized that Thompson, who was intoxicated at the time, had committed serious sexual offenses against minors, which warranted a significant custodial sentence. In addition to his prison term, Thompson is required to sign the sex offender’s register for a period of ten years, reflecting the gravity of his crimes and the potential risk to the community.

Thompson’s case highlights the dangers posed by individuals under the influence of alcohol and drugs, especially when they target vulnerable minors in public spaces. The incident has prompted calls for increased vigilance and safety measures around youth transportation and community areas in Fleetwood and the surrounding regions.
