KYLE PARRY SENTENCED IN CAERNARFON FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES FROM A DECADE AGO

A man named Kyle Parry, aged 29 and residing on Wellington Street in Huddersfield, has been sentenced to a total of eight years and nine months in prison after being convicted of serious sexual offenses committed in Caernarfon approximately ten years ago. The case centered around the brutal assault of a young woman who was found to be extremely intoxicated and in a highly vulnerable state at the time of the incident.

Parry had previously admitted to charges of rape and assault by penetration during the court proceedings. His admission came after a detailed investigation, which included a police interview conducted in December 2021. During this interview, Parry claimed that he had engaged in sexual activity with the victim, asserting that it was consensual. However, he also acknowledged that the girl was in a 'paralytic' condition due to alcohol intoxication that evening in early 2015, raising serious questions about the validity of any consent.

The victim, whose identity remains protected, delivered a powerful and emotional statement in court, describing the profound and enduring impact the assault has had on her life. She expressed her pain and resilience, stating, “What you did to me had a profound effect, and totally changed the way I feel about relationships. After you raped me, my life went into freefall. I blame you for this. The impact of what you did to me has been huge; it has affected all parts of my life. You left me so unstable. It’s taken me years to understand what a healthy relationship is. After you raped me, I dropped out of life. I am stronger than you thought. I have rebuilt my life, and I’m going to have an amazing future, while you are behind bars for your crimes. I have stuck with this investigation because I want to protect other young people from predators like you. I’ve learnt to keep you in a box, and make sure that you can no longer control me. You will never know the pain this has caused me.”

The court was informed that Parry’s actions occurred when he was considerably younger, and that he had taken the step of self-reporting the incident. His legal representative expressed hope for rehabilitation, emphasizing that this offense was committed before other convictions he had previously received.

Judge Nicola Jones commended the victim’s bravery and praised the police for their diligent work in bringing the case to justice. She made it clear that Parry would be placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely and that a lifelong restraining order would be enforced to ensure the victim’s ongoing safety and protection from further harm.
