RAPIST JAILED AFTER CATALOGUE OF AYRSHIRE SEXUAL ABUSE
A violent sex offender responsible for a spree of abuse and brutality against women in Ayrshire and other areas has received a prison sentence.Kyle MacDonald subjected his victims to both physical and sexual violence during multiple offenses spanning several years.
He was sentenced to nine years behind bars after being convicted of various violent and sexual crimes committed in West Lothian and Ayrshire.
The 30-year-old appeared at Edinburgh’s High Court on June 15, where he was also issued lifelong non-harassment orders targeting the women he abused between 2015 and 2023.
Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders register for an indefinite period.
His offences included rape, sexual assault, and assault leading to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, and a danger to life.
Police Scotland expressed support for the sentencing and credited the victims for their courage in coming forward to achieve justice.
Detective Sergeant Lucy Mason commented: “MacDonald engaged in sustained abuse over many years and must now face the consequences of his reprehensible conduct.
I want to commend the women for their bravery in reporting the abuse they endured.
Their actions were crucial in securing this outcome.
Police Scotland remains committed to taking all reports of sexual violence and abuse seriously, regardless of how much time has elapsed.”
