AYRSHIRE RAPE ACCUSED TO FACE HIGH COURT TRIAL IN 2027
A man from Ayrshire facing multiple sexual offence charges is set to stand trial in the coming year after pleading not guilty to all allegations.During a hearing at the Glasgow High Court, 33-year-old Scott Wylie denied 11 separate counts, some of which date back over a decade.
Wylie, who lives on Liberty Road in Bellshill, is accused of various incidents primarily involving sexual misconduct, with three different alleged victims, one of whom was a minor at the time.
One of the charges states that Wylie repeatedly made a young girl view explicit images between March 2011 and 2012, and also allegedly sent her photographs of his genitals when she was under 13 years old, while he was approximately 18 or 19.
Similar allegations are made concerning incidents from March 2012 to May 2013.
In August 2023, he is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Kilmarnock, which involved touching her body, including private areas, forcing her to touch him, and engaging in a sexual act.
It is also claimed that he showed her explicit images, including pictures of his genitals and an unclothed woman.
Seven other charges relate to separate offences against a different woman, pertaining to threatening or abusive behaviour at her home in Irvine between December 2023 and January 2024.
These include threats to kill and dispose of her body, multiple assaults, possession and use of a samurai sword, discharge of pellets from a firearm, and claims to own throwing knives and axes.
Additionally, Wylie is charged with three sexual assaults—two at an Irvine residence and one at a property in West Kilbride.
He is also accused of filming a woman during a private act with intent to distribute or view the recording, and of raping her in February 2024, where prosecutors allege he restrained her forcibly, pushed her into a pillow, and touched her inappropriately while she was asleep.
Prosecutors further assert that Wylie breached a court bail order issued in June 2024 by following the victim’s social media account despite explicit instructions not to contact her.
The trial is scheduled for June next year, expected to last five days at the High Court in Kilmarnock, where Wylie has been granted bail.
